Week 17: Petroglyphs (August 1-7)

It has been the of National Parks and Monuments. It's funny how I lived in New Mexico for over 4 years and Colorado for 6 years and never took advantage of things that were in my backyard.

This week I went to Petroglyph National Monument with my dad. I was just in awe of the pictures that were carved into the surface of the black rock up to a thousand years ago. Some of the intricacy of the pictographs just amazed me.

Here are just a sampling of the 20,000+ illustrations in the large park. I love how space alien/robot-ish people are depicted.
